Sporting CP trying to sign Porro permanently

The Spanish player is currently with Sporting CP with a loan deal but his impressive performance convinced them to attempt to make the move permanent.

Pedro Porro

joined

Sporting CP

from

Manchester City

with a loan deal in the summer transfer window with a two-year loan deal with the option to make the move permanent. Now,

Goal

reports that the Portuguese club wants to purchase the Spanish player as he is an international player now.

The defender helped Sporting CP climb to the top of the Primeira Liga and now they are closer than ever to win their first Portuguese title in 19 years. Apparently, there is an €8.5 million buyout clause in his contract. The Spaniard defender has won the award of the best defender in the league for November, December and January.

The 21-year-old defender has best performed in the attacking system used by Sporting CP in which he plays as a wing-back. Porro is contracted to City until 2024 but the move to Sporting will go through if the player agrees to make the switch permanent too.
