Buffon received one-match ban for blasphemous comment

Juventus goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon is banned to play Saturday's Serie A match between Juventus and Torino.

The 43-year-old has been suspended for using a "

blasphemous expression

" in

Juventus

' 4-0 triumph at Parma in December.

was shouting instructions to his teammate, Manolo Portanova when he was captured on camera doing the offense.

Earlier this year, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) opened disciplinary procedures against Juventus goalkeeper and he was fined €5,000 by the governing body last month.

As published on Tuesday, Gigi Buffon is also set to miss the match against local rivals Torino in Serie A on Saturday right after the Federal Court of Appeal upheld the appeal of the Federal Prosecutor.

The veteran shot-stopper has performed as back-up for Wojciech Szczesny since coming back to Turin from PSG in 2019 and has played 10 matches in all competitions this season.
