Chelsea eager to sign a renewal with Christensen

The Chelsea centre-back has been running on a rich vein of form for his side recently and discussions about his future at the club are being had.

Chelsea

are interested in putting pen to paper with

Andreas Christensen

for a renewal contract as

AC Milan

and

Paris Saint-Germain

are eager to acquire the Denmark international’s services.

Milan have been eyeing Christensen and Fikayo Tomori to strengthen their squad but came undone. PSG have also considered the 24-year-old in the summer but failed to sign with him before

Thomas Tuchel

was dismissed.

As Tuchel was appointed to Chelsea, he is pursuing his interest in signing a renewal with Christensen. The centre-back is performing impressively for his side despite the severe gash on his knee, having joined the Blues when he was 16. Since Thiago Silva has sustained a thigh injury in the battle against

Tottenham

, the Denmark international has been playing more prominently, being named the man of the match when they faced

Liverpool

.

"

Andreas stepped in in the middle of the first half against Tottenham, which was a really tough thing to do, and from the first minute he's been absolutely impressive,

" Tuchel said after the 1-0 victory on Thursday.

"

He's brave, strong in individual challenges, intelligent in the build-up and plays with a lot of confidence. I am absolutely happy with his performances and how he's stepped up. He's been a big part of our performances."

Chelsea are on the lookout for a new central defender in the summer transfer window.

Erling Haaland, Niklas Sule, and Ibrahima Konate are the main targets for the Blues to strengthen their side.
