Alli's performance got Mourinho praising his hard work
"The injury went and he started working with motivation. He is playing very well, I am not saying in this moment we have a starting line-up because of so many." Mourinho said.
Dele Alli
's performance in
Tottenham's 4-0 victory over
Wolfsberg
has convinced
Jose Mourinho
to have him play as the first-team's permanent player in the future.
He managed to score once and register two assists throughout the match, which has made Mourinho thinking of giving the 24-year-old more time to play.
He talked to
BT Sportabout the conditions under which Alli was working and said:
"We had a difficult period, he had an injury and at the same time talk, talk, talk about staying or leaving.
"The market closed, the injury went and he started working with motivation. He is playing very well, I am not saying in this moment we have a starting line-up because of so many matches but it is coming."
He then added that what matters to him is the hard work behind the goal and assists not them as a single concept.
The 58-year-old then expressed his opinion on the work of the whole team's general performance and said:
"It was good, we got through, won the match like we wanted and no need for the emergency plan.
"We played well for large periods and all four goals were beautiful. A special night for the kids who played for the first time and no injuries."
Dane Scarlett, 16, played for the third time in the UEFA competition and made the assist to Tottenham's fourth goal.
Mourinho called him a "diamond" who has incredible potential. He said:
"He is still 16, 17 soon and I believe next season he will be a first-team squad player because he has a lot of talent. He is going to be a fantastic player and I hope everything around him goes well.
"There is not one player here that I say I am not happy with, the performances were good."
He added, mentioning that not all of them will be playing on Sunday's match:
"Are they all going to start on Sunday? No but we are playing Thursday, Sunday, Thursday."
