Rivaldo: This may have been Messi's last match for Barcelona

Barcelona legend believes Messi’s exit is inevitable.

Barcelona

lost 4-1 to

Paris Saint-Germain

at Camp Nou on Tuesday night to significantly diminish their chance to advance to the next round.  Barca have to travel to Paris for the second leg and try to turn the tides, but with the team’s current situation, a comeback is unlikely.

Many believe that the second leg match in Paris is

Lionel Messi

's last European game for Barcelona, and his separation with this trend is definite.

Barcelona legend

Rivaldo

also believes Messi’s exit is imminent.

In an interview with

Betfair

, the Brazilian said:

“This may well have been Lionel Messi's last match for Barcelona at Camp Nou in the Champions League. Based on the quality PSG showed, I'm sure he might be thinking about joining them.

“I want Messi to stay at Barcelona but I understand why he'd want to leave at the moment when the club is not guaranteeing him good chances of fighting for important titles regularly. He can't keep taking responsibility for the team on his own. Last summer, he saw Luis Suarez leave in an incomprehensible transfer that has made Atletico Madrid stronger.

“I believe he will leave the club at the end of season.”
