Ronaldo hopes Juve get back to Serie A race after winning Supercoppa

The Portuguese superstar believes the triumph in Suppercoppa gives the Old Lady much-needed confidence in Serie A.

The Portugal forward volleyed a close-range opener, and substitute

Alvaro Morata

sealed victory in injury time for Juventus against

Napoli

in Supercoppa.

The Bianconeri’s pursuit of a Serie A title seems difficult this season as they are sitting in fifth place on the table but

Cristiano Ronaldo

believes the 2-0 victory over Napoli provides a springboard back into the race in Serie A.

“We are very happy with the win, it was difficult, especially as the pitch was terrible, but we got it done,”

Ronaldo told Rai Sport after the match

.

“We showed a different attitude to the bad performance against Inter. That is the past, this is a very important trophy and we hope this can give the team more confidence going into the future.”

He added:

“Milan and Inter are very strong, but I believe we have what it takes to win. It’s going to be very difficult, but I believe the Scudetto is still possible.”

Juventus's next game will be against Bologna on Sunday in Serie A.
