Britain forces all sports to continue behind closed doors
Following the Covid-19 outbreak in Britain, the Government has forced all the matches to be held without the presence of any fans.
Great Britain Government
has decided to place all of their areas under tier 3 and 4 coronavirus restrictions, which means that no fans will be allowed to attend the matches unless they were held in tier 1 or 2 regions.
Scottish Government has also forced the fans out of stadiums during Boxing Day with them disallowing supporters as well.
Before tightening the restrictions several clubs including
Liverpooland
Evertonwere ready to welcome fans into their stadiums, but after the announcement made by the British Government, Everton tweeted:
“We can confirm that, following the Government’s announcement the Liverpool City Region is moving into Tier Three of the national Covid-19 restrictions from midnight tonight, we won’t be able to welcome fans to Goodison until further notice, including Friday’s game with West Ham.”
League one club,
Plymouth, was also affected by this decision with them tweeting: “disappointed with this development, but we appreciate the importance of overcoming this pandemic together”.
