Gasperini lauded Pirlo's tactics as he gets ready to face a firm Juve

Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini said Atalanta versus Juventus battles have changed in recent years and conceded he 'likes the path created by' the Old Lady's manager, Andrea Pirlo

La Dea

have proved themselves in Europe with two consecutive advancements to

Champions League

round 16 under Gian Piero Gasperini and the games against

Serie A

giants have gotten substantially more intriguing for the team.

This week is the same, as the two sides are through to the UCL knockout stage and go on battling to stay close and challenge the League pioneers Milan.

Gasperini

said he enjoys the progressions made by

Bianconeri's

mentor Pirlo and anticipates another harsh test by a 'strong'

Juventus

.

“They changed coach, added new players,” Gasperini said at a press conference. “I like the path that Andrea is creating, I mean as a team.

“He lost [Miralem] Pjanic, but they added other players like Arthur and [Weston] McKennie. They were already a strong side, recently they won a derby, against Genoa and against Barcelona.

“Maybe it would have been better to meet them at the start. They finished top in the Champions League and for us it’s an important match.

“Over the years, we have grown, the first games played in Turin were different. It will be important to have the right attitude against a strong Juventus."
