Gasperini to the press: 'You talk as long as you want'

Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini said he doesn't zero in on the Papu Gomez case and uncovered Josip Ilicic 'is still out' in front of the Juventus game on Wednesday

The big buzz at

Atalanta

lately has been the disagreements of the team's skipper and manager, however,

Gasperini

didn't have any desire to squander his time regarding the matter.

“We won in Amsterdam and are drawn Real Madrid,” he said at a press conference. “I don’t think there were any friendly matches.

“Tomorrow we face Juventus. It’s a lot of stuff, but also respect for the other players. You talk as long as you want, I have to think about this stuff.

“It’s the prestige of Real, Juve and then Roma on Sunday. I have my focus there, I have to find the best solution for these matches.”

The manager uncovered he doesn't know whether Ilicic will make it so as to face the Old Lady, yet affirmed Aleksei Miranchuk is back on the training ground.

“Ilicic is still out,” the coach said at a press conference. “Today, Miranchuk can train again for the first time, he was negative.

“Atalanta need a great performance, but they must present themselves with confidence. There’s not a lot of time to prepare for the match. Now, it’s like that for everyone.

“I don’t know if Ilicic can recover, he didn’t train until yesterday. He has problems with his throat.”

Gasperini was asked if Gomez will be selected for the game against the

Bianconeri

and reacted:

"If there are no other types of problems

…”

At that point, he told the columnists that he didn't have anything more to add on the subject.

“There’s talk of the others, from [Pierluigi] Gollini to [Duvan] Zapata, but also out of respect. For my part, that’s enough. I have the possibility to choose, to let one or the other in.

“I have to think about the team and the best possible formation. Don’t ask me about everything else, enough has already been said.”

Atalanta are in the eighth position of

Serie A

in front of their visit to the Allianz Stadium.
