Rodgers is happy to have Amartey back

Amartey has restarted the team trainings and will be match fit soon.

The 25 years old center back

Daniel Amartey

has returned from injury after two months.

Leicester City’s

defender picked up a hamstring injury in a Premier League match against

West Ham United.

It was his second appearance after a long injury he had before that.

Here is what

Brendan Rodgers

said about his return in an interview with the clubs official website.

"[We've had] some really good news as Daniel Amartey’s come back in and trained with the team today, which is great news for us,

"He’d worked so hard to come back from his injury and then he was outstanding in his games and, unfortunately, he got injured in the West Ham game.

"He’s come back really well, he looked strong in training and we’ll hopefully build him up over the next weeks as well.

"Daniel Amartey’s (hamstring) a little bit away, but he's progressing really well. It gives us a really exciting squad,"

Amartey is expected to be match fit in this month or the next. The team has been waiting for the Ghana international to return as the coach said.

He has been missing many international matches too and Ghana boss Akonnor hopes to have his center back available as soon as possible.
