Flick: Alaba’s contract is not an issue at the moment

Bayern Munchen boss has refused to discuss the situation of the team’s defender ahead of their Saturday clash against Leipzig.

David Alaba

’s contract at

Bayern Munchen

will be expired at the end of the season and it has been reported that the Austrian defender has refused more than one extension offers from the German giants. When the news about his high wage demands broke out, the 28-year-old’s father reacted by saying that his son is “so disappointed and upset because so many falsehoods are being aired in public."

Ahead of his team’s Saturday clash against

RB Leipzig

,

Hansi Flick

has refused to speak about the defender’s contract situation.

"That's not an issue at the moment. There's a game every third day, that's the focus at the moment."

The German manager preferred to speak about Leroy Sane and the importance of giving the player enough time to show his true qualities.

"You have to consider the background,

"He had a serious injury and was injured again in the Hoffenheim game. I know from my own experience that you need some time.

"What I see in training is good. It's not that easy when you come to a new club; you have to integrate first. At the moment we can't train like we did in pre-season."

Hansi Flick predicted a hard clash against Julian Nagelsmann’s side.

"Leipzig have developed tremendously," the Bayern boss said. "Even before I was at Hoffenheim, I knew that Julian was a top coach.

"Leipzig play forward very quickly and are very variable. The idea of their football appeals to me and I value Julian as a coach. That's why Leipzig are where they are."
