Campbell: ‘Boateng could be that experienced player who helps others’
Kevin Campbell believes Arsenal would improve by signing Jerome Boateng and is hoping that the club would reconsider him.
has had an outstanding career for 14 years during which he had spells taken in at
Hertha,
Hamburg, and
Manchester City. Then it was his €14 million transfer to
Bayern Munichin 2011. Since then he has been building a reputation as being one of the top defenders in Europe, with winning eight Bundesliga titles and two Champions League crowns.
In 2014, he became a World Cup winner and although he was exiled from international football last year, he was still a regular at club level.
Now that his contract is expiring at the end of the season, his future has become a new topic for speculations.

Kevin Campbell believes that his old club would improve by bringing the ex-Germany international in and hopes that the club would reconsider him for the next year.
“You can never have enough quality and you can never have enough players who have done it at the top level,” Campbell said.
“Looking to maybe recruit someone like Jerome Boateng shows where the club is at.
“Gabriel and Saliba would benefit from having somebody like Boateng at the club. I am not sure how long
David Luizwill be at the club so Jerome Boateng could be that experienced player who helps others fulfill their potential.
“Arsenal need characters. They need strong characters who have been there and done it at the top level. Jerome Boateng is certainly one.
“If you put it out to the Arsenal fan base they will say, ‘Oh he is too old.’ But beggars cannot be choosers and we need experience. He is a serial winner.”
