‘He has to play’ Neville considers Pogba as a key player for Man Utd
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been struggling lately to find a suiting spot for Paul Pogba in his starting squad.
’s place in the starting XI of
Manchester Unitedhas been a major problem for the team’s coach as
Bruno Fernandeskeeps shining in the midfield. In the team’s Sunday match against
Everton, Pogba was once again benched and Solskjaer used him only for the game’s final five minutes. It was assumed at the start of the season that the French International will form a partnership in the Red Devils’ midfield but this expectation has proven wrong by the 27-year-old’s poor performances in the recent games. In a recent interview with Premier League Productions, former Manchester United defender Phil Neville has spoken about Pogba and his potential to regain has position in the team’s starting XI.
“I still think it’s absolutely disgraceful that Pogba can’t get in that team,
“For United to win a league, for United to be successful, for United to play the style of football that Ole wants them to play, then Pogba has to play.
“You can play one of them [Nemanja] Matic, Fred or [Scott] McTominay and then you play Pogba with Fernandes.
“I know I’ve said about him wanting to leave, not wanting to be there and his inconsistencies but I still think he’s one of the best midfielders around.
“That’s why I’m thinking: Why is Paul Pogba not in that team?”
