The AIC Serie A Women's Team of the Year is an annual award given to a set of eleven female footballers in the top tier of Italian women's association football, the Serie A, who are considered to have performed the best during the previous calendar season.
The Italian Footballers' Association (AIC) has also organized The AIC Serie A Female Footballer of the Year, which is a yearly award given to the female professional footballer who was the best considering all performance factors.
The female footballer which performed the best among the all players in the previous women's football Serie A season gets the Serie A Female Footballer of the year.
This award is a part of an event called the Gran Gala del Calcio (formerly known as Oscar del Calcio).
Serie A Female Footballer of the Year award does not have an exceptionally long history. The first award was given in 2012 and the first winner was Melania Gabbiadini. She has won the award four times consecutively as a record in the award brief history from 2012 till 2015, playing for AGSM Verona.

. She is an Italian football goalkeeper who plays for
AC Milan. She started her career in Como 2000. She played for Gutersloh 2009, Herforder SV, FC Köln, SC Freiburg, and Juventus.
In 2017, She joined the Juventus club and 0n 20 May 2018, Giuliani won Juventus' first league award in history.
Laura Giuliani was also given the award of Best Goalkeeper. The award was presented by Ludovica Mantovani, President of the Women's Football Division. The players were awarded on the basis of OPTA data.
Giuliani said, "It's an award that makes me so proud at the end of a season, in which as a group and as a team we have done impressive things. I think it's the best form of recognition to end this season in the best possible way."
While some of other Italians players signed contract extensions, Giuliani did not. Juventus Women announced that Giuliani, their starting goalkeeper from Day 1 of the project, along with Brazilian winger Maria Alves would leave the club when their contracts expire.
Giuliani, one of the more underrated goalkeepers in Europe, signed on a free transfer with AC Milan and became the second big name to leave Juventus after a title-winning season following the departure of manager Rita Guarino.

Quite surprisingly, Juventus FC Women club tweeted a picture of Cecilia Salvai slanting her eyes in an image many found racist.
Salvai used her fingers to slant her eyes while wearing a cone on her head, and the tweet included emojis doing the same.
The photo faced immediate backlash and was removed after 25 minutes. Later, the club apologized for racist post shared on women's team's Twitter feed.
