Real Madrid Summer Transfers 2021

Real Madrid did not spend a satisfying season in 2020/21 and they didn’t manage to win any trophies. Read on to find out more about Real Madrid transfer news.

After Euro 2020 final, Madrid must accelerate their first team planning for the new season but the squad may not be complete until late August.

The club, led by General Director José Ángel Sánchez and supervised by Florentino Pérez, is working to have the squad for the new season finalized as soon as possible. Their first task is to determine which players will be moving on and whether they will be sold or loaned out.

Real Madrid have only signed one player, namely,

David Alaba

, and let their captain, Sergio Ramos, who is definitely one of the greatest players in the history of the club leave for free.

Their beloved manager,

Zinedine Zidane

left the club, and with regard to that, fans had been expecting a vital and revolutionary transfer season, but there has been no such thing so far.

Moreover, Raphael Varane's move to Manchester United also seems to be a done deal. Brahim Diaz will stay at AC Milan as the club's agreed for his loan-transfer.

In addition, Gareth Bale, Martin Odegaard, Luka Jovic, Jesus Vallejo, and Takefusa Kubo will return to Madrid as their loan move contracts end this summer.

Takefusa Kubo

, who is known as one of the most promising talents in the world of football, has been being loaned out to different teams, such as RCD Mallorca, Villareal, and Getafe ever since he joined Real Madrid in 2019, in order to gain the ample experience to play in La Liga.

Kubo played in 18 La Liga games for Getafe last season, scored 1 goal and provided 1 assist. His future will be decided when he comes back from 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where he is representing his country.

Furthermore, his performance have been satisfying enough for Arsenal manager,

Mikel Arteta

, that the club's authorities are making moves to sign him again from Real Madrid, either on loan or permanently. Here are some facts about this talented footballer:

On 27th August 2014 he became the youngest ever player to play for Norway at senior level, at 15 years and 253 days.

The 24-year-old center back comes back to Bernabeu after 1 and a half season at Granada CF. Real bought him in 2015, when he was only 18, as one of the most promising defenders, but things have not worked out for him as expected at Real Madrid.

Vallejo has been loaned out to Real Zaragoza, Eintracht Fankfurt, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and most recently Granada CF. He has only played in a total of 19 games for Real Madrid in which has scored 1 goal.

Moreover, Vallejo featured in 21 La Liga games, 10 Europe League matches, and 4 Copa del Rey games for Granada last season. He stayed at Bernabeu for 2 seasons until the end of 2018/19 season, but left the club on loan, seeking more chances to play by joining Arsenal. He has been a Gunner for the last 2 seasons, where he has made 77 appearances, scored 2 goals and recorded 5 assists.

One of the reasons

Daniel Ceballos

left Madrid was Zinedine Zidane, the club's manager at the time, who did not seem to have much faith in the Spanish midfielder. However, with Carlo Ancelotti's return as the club's manager, Ceballos hopes to prove himself as a starter.

Being only 25, and with the potential he has shown, Real fans are hopeful that he will shine in their midfield line for the upcoming years. During his first 2 seasons at Madrid, Ceballos featured in 56 games, scored 5 goals, and provided 2 assists. We have to wait to see if he can improve his stats, or will leave the club again.

Luka Jovic

at the end of 2018/19 season. The Serbian striker had had a great season with Eintracht Frankfurt where he scored 17 goals and provided 6 assists in the 2018/19 Bundesliga season.

However, with Karim Benzema being the first choice of Zinedina Zidane for the striker position, Jovic only played in 17 La Liga games (420 minutes) in 2019/20, scoring twice and providing 1 assist. In the January of 2021, the 24-year-old player was loaned to his former club Eintracht Frankfurt, after he had only played in 4 La Liga games within half a season.

Jovic somehow managed to resurrect in the German club, where he was trusted. He played in 18 Bundesliga games, scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists. His loan contract ends this summer, and the Serbian man must come back to Madrid, and with Carlo Ancelotti being in charge, Jovic's situation at the club might be different from the last time he was there.

However, the forward is motivated to return to Frankfurt more permanently and get his career back on track in a more familiar environment, despite the €10 million a season salary he earns at Real Madrid. A new contract in Frankfurt would run for three to four years and would include an exit clause.

Since I arrived in 2011, together we have exceeded all expectations and achieved things that I could never have dreamed of. I would like to thank all the coaches and all the people who work or have worked at the club for everything they have done for me.

Many thanks also to all the Madridistas who always gave me a lot of affection and with their great demand they pushed me to give my best and fight for every success.

I have had the honor of sharing a dressing room with the best players in the world. Countless victories that I will never forget, especially “La Décima”. I realize that it has been a great privilege to have been able to experience such special moments.

Finally, I want to thank all Spaniards and especially to the city of Madrid, where my two children were born. This country will always be special to me.
