Juve turned down Chelsea’s Kante-De Ligt swap deal

As per reports, the Bianconeri did not accept a proposal from the Blues in the January transfer window which included the N’Golo Kante and Matthijs de Ligt.

Based on reports from

CBS Sports

, Tuttomercatoweb and

Calciomercato.com

,

Chelsea

made an offer to

Juventus

that involved

N’Golo Kante

and

Matthijs de Ligt

back in January. The Bianconeri could have benefited from the addition of Kante in their midfield. However, they rejected the proposal and missed out on the France international. De Ligt, on the other hand, eventually departed the Old Lady in the summer transfer window, joining Bayern Munich on a deal worth €67m plus up to €10m in add-ons.

Kante’s deal with the Premier League side will keep him at the club until 2023 and he has only played in only two matches for the Blues so far this season.

Chelsea acquired his services from Leicester City back in 2016 on a contract worth €35.8m as he contributed to the Premier League title victory with Claudio Ranieri.

Max Allegri, the Juventus boss, have been struggling when it comes to midfield, with the manager using Fabio Miretti, the teenager, in that position to fill the gap.
