France’s Deschamps warns Pogba to reach full fitness for World Cup

The Frenchman was sidelined for five weeks due to a knee injury as he choose a conservative treatment plan. As the conservative treatment failed, Pogba had to go on surgery with France's coach expressing his concern about his midfielder’s form and fitness.

Juventus

midfielder helped

France

to win World Cup in 2018 as they beat

in the finals, and with his side expected to defend the title as early as November when the Qatar World Cup kicks off,

Paul Pogba

faces a race against time to be fit for the

World Cup

as his knee surgery is expected to rule him out of action for between 40 and 60 days.

France manager

Didier Deschamps

has warned Paul Pogba that he must be fully fit to be included in his World Cup squad. Deschamps has plenty of midfield options with

Real Madrid

's young duo

Aurelien Tchouameni

and

Eduardo Camavinga

being in top form.

Naming his squad for their

games against

and

Denmark

next week, the 53-year-old coach said about Pogba’s situation:

"He will not come just because he is a 'framework'. If he has not played before and is not in top form, it is useless. He himself does not want it.”

The 29-year-old midfielder won two Serie A titles with Juve before leaving Turin for

Manchester United

in 2016 for £89m. After five years with the Red Devils, he left the club as a free agent and returned to Turin this summer.
