Everton's Richarlison charged by England FA for throwing smoke bomb

The Football Association has accused Everton's Richarlison of hurling a smoke grenade during a clash against Chelsea last month.

The Football Association (FA) has penalized

Everton

striker Richarlison with alleged misconduct after he threw a smoking bomb during the Toffees'

Premier League

triumph against

Chelsea

last month.

Early in the second half, after netting the game's solitary goal, the Brazilian grabbed an object that had been tossed onto the playing field and hurled it back towards an unoccupied portion of the pitch, although near to the spectators, while celebrating.

Footage showed the smoke bomb strike the side of the Goodison Park bleachers before dropping to the ground.

The FA announced the Brazilian's allegation in a statement posted on Wednesday, saying that he has until June 8 to respond.

Richarlison shared a photograph of himself holding up the smoke bomb on his official social media accounts shortly after the charge was revealed.

Richarlison was instrumental in Everton's Premier League survival despite a lackluster season under both Rafael Benitez and Frank Lampard, finishing the season with more league goals (10) and assists (five) than any other Toffee player.
