Leipzig fired Nagelsmann's American replacement

During his few months in Leipzig, Marsh failed to satisfy fans and managers.

RB Leipzig

have announced that manager Jesse Marsch has been sacked following recent poor results.

Leipzig 2-1 defeat to

Union Berlin

on Friday night dropped the team to 11th place in the Bundesliga table, and finally Jesse Marsh and Leipzig decided to cut ties in a bilateral agreement. Jesse Marsch's assistant, Achim Beierlorzer, will lead Leipzig in Tuesday's Champions League match against

Manchester City

, and the new manager will be announced as the permanent replacement in the near future.

Club's statement reads:

"RB Leipzig and head coach Jesse Marsch have mutually agreed to part ways.

"The decision is the result of an in-depth analysis and intensive discussions after the Bundesliga match against Union Berlin.

"Jesse Marsch will be released with immediate effect and assistant coach Achim Beierlorzer will take charge of the team ahead of the upcoming home game against Manchester City. A successor for Marsch will be announced in the near future."

Jesse Marsch, 48, joined Leipzig earlier this season and agreed a two-year deal to replace Julian Nagelsmann. He had previously worked as an assistant under Ralf Rangnick at the Leipzig club.
