The France international was treated on the pitch and had to put an ice pack on his head before leaving the field.

The crowd has recently been making trouble in Ligue 1 matches and the Marseille forward’s incident was the latest.

Two points were docked from Nice, one of them suspended, following their battle against Marseille, whose squad clashed with home supporters as they pelted them with missiles in August. The match was replayed in October behind closed doors.

The second half of the battle between RC Lens and Lille in September was delayed by thirty minutes as fans started throwing objects at each other, running onto the pitch, with police and stewards forced to intervene.
