Barcelona announce resigning Dani Alves

, who spent a successful spell at the club, is set to return to Camp Nou after a period of the free agency following his departure from Sao Paulo in September.

The 38-year-old Brazil international had talked about his dream of returning to Barcelona in the past, and now the club has officially confirmed that they have reached an agreement with the player to bring him back to play under his former teammate Xavi.

"Although his main role has always been in defense, in the true Brazilian wing-back tradition, Alves also likes to join the attack, where he has a fine shot from outside the area, earning him the reputation as one of the finest players of all time in his position,"

"He was an automatic choice under all of Pep Guardiola, Tito Vilanova, Tata Martino and Luis Enrique, and the fans loved his dedication and extroverted character. In the summer of 2016, he left for Juventus, and since then has been at Paris Saint-Germain and lastly, at São Paulo back in his home country."

Alves is going to start training with the first team, but he can’t be registered until January.

The player has played 391 games in his previous spell at the club, proving himself as one of the most important players in the team, and now he has the chance to improve his record and add to the many trophies that he has won at Camp Nou.
