The Spanish star will be out of the squad for an important part of the season.

Manchester City

boss Pep Guardiola has claimed that striker Torres could be out of action until January.

The 21-year-old striker suffered an injury during the UEFA National League semi-final match against Italy, and after undergoing medical tests and scans, it was revealed that his right leg had suffered a fourth metatarsal fracture. Torres was one of Guardiola's key players and was the team's main striker after Aguero's departure. Now Pep has expressed concern about this and claimed that the Spanish star will probably be out of action until January.

Pep said:

"Torres will be out for two months and a half, three months.

"Except Ferran, the rest of the team are OK. The injury is the fourth metatarsal."

"The injury can happen here, at home, with the national team. I know perfectly Luis Enrique, he treats all the players as good as possible.

"He doesn't want Ferran to get injured. They try to take care, sometimes it happens. It happened with Belgium with Kevin [De Bruyne], Phil [Foden] with England.

"It would be better not to happen but unfortunately it happens. He will spend a few weeks in Spain and then come back and recover hopefully in two, three months."
