Sergio Ramos’ Paris Saint-Germain debut has been delayed again as the defender continues to recover from a calf injury.
The 36-year-old signed fromReal Madrid
on a free in the summer but has yet to pull on aPSG
shirt due to ongoing problems with his calf.
There had been suggestions the Spanish center-back could feature againstAngers
at Parc des Princes this Friday.
But the Ligue 1 champions announced on Thursday that
is still in individual training and will return to team training after 10 days, which means he will miss the Champions League clash withRB Leipzig
and the away game againstOlympique Marseille
When asked about the Spain international's prolonged absence,
said at his pre-match news conference:
"I am convinced he will get back to his best.
"It is clear that every player, in this case Sergio Ramos, does not enjoy the situations when they are out and unable to train with their teammates and play for such a long time.
"He is suffering but is strong mentally and he is coping with it as well as he can. The performance team are helping him stay at a high level and full of motivation to get over this problem."
