Aurier to sign a permanent deal with Villarreal

The ex-Spurs defender is on the verge of joining Villarreal.

has reached an agreement with


over a one-year loan deal that includes an option of two more added years after undergoing his medical on Monday.

The Ivory Coast international will reunite with his former boss at Paris Saint-Germain, Unai Emery. The 28-year-old acquire a new agent over the summer, Vadim Vasilyev, the former AS Monaco VP, after failing to seal a move away from Tottenham in multiple transfer windows.

Spurs and Aurier reached an agreement over a contract termination in August with a year left on his deal, following the arrival of Emerson Royal from Barcelona.

The Ivorian has to compete for a place with his ex-teammate at Tottenham, Juan Foyth, who penned a permanent contract with Villarreal after a successful loan spell in the 2020-21 season with the La Liga side vanquishing Manchester United in the Europa League.
