Shobeir denies Al Wahda making an offer for Al Ahly’s Mosimane

The former Egypt shot-stopper, who became a pundit, denied speculations of Mosimane being linked with the UAE.

Notwithstanding failing to deliver the league and Super Cup titles,

Al Ahly

fans think highly of

Mosimane

, who has helped his side gain back-to-back CAF Champions League titles, the CAF Super Cup, the CWC bronze medal, and the Egypt Super Cup.

The South African tactician has received an offer from his country to coach his national team, but he did not accept the bid as he is committed to the Red Devils.

According to the reports,

Al Wahda

, who have become the UAE Champions four times, had offered the 57-year-old the management role of the team with a salary of $5 million per year, which is way more than what he earns at Al Ahly. However, the rumors were denied by former Al Ahly keeper

Ahmed Shobeir

.

I contacted some sources close to Al Wahda officials, and they denied any negotiations with Mosimane, and that everything that was reported in this regard isn’t true,”

Shobeir said on his show on ONTime Sport TV.

“Al Wahda never made a $5 million offer to Mosimane to take over the team. Al Wahda doesn’t pay these large sums to the coaches.”

It’s possible that some have linked Mosimane’s wife traveling to the Emirates, to her going to negotiate with Al Wahda. Mosimane will be in training this week and isn’t planning on leaving,”

he concluded.
