Sancho's situation at Man Utd 'hurts my soul', says BVB CEO Watzke

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has said that it 'hurts [his] soul' to see Jadon Sancho struggling for game time at Manchester United.

The England international signed for

Manchester United

 this summer.

Ole Gunnar

Solskjaer

’s side paid an initial fee of around £73m to bring the former

Manchester City

player back to the Premier League.

However, the 21-year-old has struggled so far this season. He has failed to score a goal or provide an assist for his side in his seven appearances across all competitions.

He was also an unused substitute for Saturday's home defeat to Aston Villa.

Watzke told

Sport1

at the weekend of his thoughts on why Sancho was struggling.

"I love Jadon,"

he said.

"When you see him playing you get tears in your eyes. It hurts my soul that he is given so little consideration. I think his problem is that he’s not set in the English national team."
