Spezia manager Thiago Motta believes his side’s home defeats to Milan and Juventus have a ‘psychological’ reason.
Just like their game againstJuventus
had scored but failed to keep it until the end of the match, eventually losing 3-2 then and 2-1 this afternoon.
“It was a psychological issue and we’re not the only team that does this,”
the coach told
“We scored by attacking and going forward, so it’s not right that once we score, we then sit back deeper and stop doing what got us the goal in the first place.
“We have to improve in certain attitudes that caused us to do that. It’s important to be a more consistent side. Results help to grow, but we must not change our philosophy if we aren’t chasing the game.
“Defending isn’t enough if we want to get a result, we need ideas too. It was a better performance against Milan than with Juventus, but we ought to make more of our transitions and scoring opportunities.”
