Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt has said the three points against Spezia was the only thing that mattered for his side on Wednesday night.
The Dutch defender’s second-half strike brought Juventus their first victory of the Serie A season after four games and moved
's side out of the bottom three.
broke the deadlock after 28 minutes with his first goal since returning to Italy, but
both were on target to turn the game around.
scored the equalizer in the 66th minute before
pounced to secure the win for his side six minutes later.
“The game was difficult,”
. “We played a good first half, but they scored a great goal on the last chance and that’s always tough.
“Then they scored at the beginning of the second half, but our character was important to win. The only thing that mattered was the three points.”
The Dutch center-back hopes the win can act as a turning point for the Old Lady.
“At Juventus we have to win all the games, now we must start a new championship with these three points,”

The young defender responded to the critics by scoring the winner.
