Messi to miss PSG's next match due to injury

The Argentine star is facing another misfortune after a poor start in the French capital.

Paris Saint-Germain

have announced that Lionel Messi's knee has been scanned and there is a possibility that he will be injured.

The Argentine star was substituted in the 63rd minute of his side's recent match against Lyon and protested his substitution after leaving the pitch. Some believed that Pochettino had replaced Messi due to an injury suffered during the game, and now Paris Saint-Germain has officially confirmed this.

The club's statement reads:

"Lionel Messi, who took a knock to his left knee against Lyon, underwent an MRI on Tuesday morning which confirmed signs of bruising of the bone.

"A follow-up examination will be carried out in 48 hours."

Thus, the six-time Ballon d'Or winner will be absent in his team's match against Metz, which will be held on Wednesday.

Messi has so far failed to meet expectations. He left Barcelona in the summer after 20 years, along with Kylian Mbappe and Neymar on PSG's attack, but has yet to break the scoring deadlock.
