Lukaku set for a medical scan due to what he calls "a minor issue"

Before returning to Stamford Bridge for Premier League action, the Belgium international forward will take medical examinations.

Romelu Lukaku

has given Chelsea an injury worry by revealing that he would have a checkup on a "minor issue" before coming to Stamford Bridge following international duty.

The 28-year-old frontman has been abroad with Belgium in

World Cup qualification

action since returning to west London in a £98 million ($136 million) signing during the summer transfer window.

He earned his 100th cap against the Czech Republic on Sunday; however, due to an incident in that match, he will be sidelined for the match against Belarus on Wednesday.

Lukaku has confirmed that he would return to England early when his international break is finished, but only after passing more medical tests.

After scoring his 67th goal for Belgium, he informed HLN that he had reached a

hundred

appearances for his nation:

"I'll have a scan of my thigh first. I have been struggling with a minor issue for a while. Then I will return to Chelsea."

Lukaku looks to be implying that the minor fitness problem is unimportant.

He has already scored a goal for Chelsea, with a debut goal against London adversaries

Arsenal

Lukaku is anticipated to lead Thomas Tuchel's team to a

Premier League

championship push this season, and if healthy, he should start Chelsea's return to domestic action against Aston Villa on Saturday.
