Juventus might sign Witsel if McKennie leaves

Juventus could consider signing Axel Witsel if Weston McKennie leaves the club as he has not been able to convince Bianconeri’s new boss.

Axel Witsel

has been offered to

Juventus

by intermediaries and the Bianconeri might consider the 32-year-old if

Weston McKennie

leaves the club, according to Sky Sport Italia.

Witsel had previously been offered to the Serie A giants and was close to joining the club in 2016 as he even arrived at the club’s headquarters to sign his contract but the deal fell through.

McKennie, on the other hand, has not been able to convince Juventus’ new boss Massimiliano Allegri and therefore the club wants to sell him for €25-30 million.

Everton, Aston Villa, and Tottenham have shown interest in the American midfielder, according to reports in Italy. However, Tottenham and Juventus are not considering a swap deal involving former Schalke 04 man and Moussa Sissoko.

Witsel joined

Borussia Dortmund

from Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian in 2018 and is contracted until June 2022.

He has made 108 appearances across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund during which he has been able to score 11 goals.
