Aston Villa looking to sign Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham

Tue 03 August 2021 | 17:29

Aston Villa has shown interest in signing two players from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Aston Villa

is interested in signing

Chelsea’s

striker

Tammy Abraham

on loan for the second time after his loan spell at the club in the 2018-19 season when they were promoted to the Premier League under Dean Smith.

Abraham has not been struggling with the playing time he has been given since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard at the club in January but still managed to become the club’s joint-top goal-scorer alongside Timo Werner.

The problem for Aston Villa is that Chelsea wants to send the player away on a permanent contract instead of a loan move, and they have a £40m price tag on the 23-year-old striker. The gunners have shown interested in signing the English striker too.

With Chelsea’s interest in signing Lukaku from Inter, it seems like a permanent move would be their only option for Abraham.

Aston Villa’s other target in the transfer market is

Manchester United’s

defender

Axel Tuanzebe

who has a contract with the Red Devils until next summer, and the club has an option to extend it until 2023, and with Varane’s arrival at Old Trafford, the 23-year-old’s chances of getting a place in the first team have decreased so the club may consider letting him go away on loan deals after extending his contract.
