Roma midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has said he and his teammates will do everything to help their side in the race for the 2021-22 Serie A title.
The Armenian midfielder has recently signed a contract extension withRoma
until June 2022.
Mkhitaryan, who turned 32 in January, has made 73 appearances for Roma since joining fromArsenal
in the summer of 2019.
He scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in 34 League games last term.
New Roma boss
is also convinced to keep hold of the formerManchester United
midfielder despite the difficult working relationship they had at Old Trafford.
The pair had problems at Manchester United and it was Mourinho who eventually sold Mkhitaryan to Arsenal having frozen him out of the squad for a number of weeks prior to the transfer window.
Now they have the chance to put that time aside and help Roma get back amongst the top four in Serie A.
“If Roma will be up there next season? We will do everything to be protagonists,”
he told Il Corriere dello Sport
“We will try to bring home as many wins as possible.”
