Celtic miss out on the Champions League after Midtjylland defeat

The Hoops were eliminated from the Champions League after being defeated at the hands of Midtjylland.

Celtic

were vanquished in Denmark notwithstanding taking the lead during the second half of the game.

They were trying to put things together at the top end of the field and regrated the missed opportunities as they fell into Europa League qualifying.

Celts started the battle on the right foot, as they met the back of the net early doors, courtesy of

Callum McGregor

’s strike. They have had the lead in the second tie as they finished the first leg with a 1-1 result.

However, when James Forrest missed a sitter,

Awel Mabil

scored the equalizer and leveled the game.

During the extra-time, FCM secured their win through

Raphael Onyedika Nwadike

’s goal.

Celtic will lock horns with Czech side Jablonec in Europa League qualifying.
