Tuttosport
,
Fabio Paratici
,
Tottenham’s sporting director, is interested in signing with
Cristian Romero
but their first offer for the 23-year-old was rejected by
Atalanta.
The Argentina international joined the club before the start of the 2020-21 season on a paid loan that included an option to buy from
Juventusand he has been showing impressive performance since then.
The Argentine, who featured for his country three times in the Copa America as they grabbed the trophy, appeared in 42 matches, meeting the back of the net three times and contributing five assists.
Reports claim that Paratici has been in touch with the Orobici and was keen on making a €50m bid for the centre-back.
However, Atalanta did not accept their offer as they want more for the youngster’s departure after only one season.
Romero first played in Italy in 2018 when he penned a contract with Genoa. He was then snapped up by Juventus on a €26m deal, but he joined Rossoblu on a loan contract for the 2019-20 season.
