Fulham leading race for Liverpool winger Wilson

The relegated Cottagers are keen to bolster their squad ahead of their season-long battle to return to the Premier League.

Harry Wilson

, who spent the last season on loan at Cardiff City, has been linked with a move away from Anfield in recent weeks. The Welsh winger joined up with Jurgen Klopp’s squad at their pre-season camp in Austria, but he is expected to leave the club before the end of the current transfer window.

According to

Goal.com

,

Fulham

are currently leading the race for the Liverpool winger. Wilson is reportedly convinced he must move permanently to another club as he is unlikely to get enough game time under Klopp. Being aware of Fulham’s lucrative offers for Ivan Cavaleiro and Anthony Knockaert, Liverpool are reportedly demanding a £15 million fee for the winger.

The Reds rejected a £12m offer from

Burnley

last summer, but they believe Wilson has developed further since then. The Wales international featured in 38 games for Cardiff City last season, scoring seven goals and providing 12 assists.

Benfica

are also monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation for a potential loan deal. However, Liverpool are unlikely to accept a loan offer as they are determined to sell Wilson ahead of the next season.
