Man Utd and Liverpool deal with transfer blow regarding Barella

Thu 15 July 2021 | 15:10

The Italy Euro 2020 winner is ‘not on sale’ this summer and the Red Devils and the Reds should turn their attention elsewhere in their search for midfield reinforcements.

Manchester United

and

Liverpool

have made offers for

Nicolo Barella

, but as per reports from

Sky Sport Italia

correspondent Fabrizio Romano, the Italy international will not be sold.

Inter

have tried to balance their books by cashing in on Achraf Hakimi for €71m, who joined PSG, and they are not willing to lose another top player.

However, they may sell players like Ivan Perisic or Stefano Sensi, but the Serie A champions consider Barella and

Romelu Lukaku

‘untouchable’.

Fabrizio Romano reported that Inter, Liverpool and Manchester United are not having any negotiations over a possible move for Barella.

The 24-year-old joined the Nerazzurri in 2019 from Cagliari on a €44m transfer and should Samir Handanovic hang up his boots, he will be the team captain.

He pulled off an impressive performance last season, contributing to Serie A title win as well as European Championships with Italy national team.
