Hütter refuses his departure is related to Frankfurt’s massive defeat

The German Eagles were defeated 4-0 by Monchengladbach in a match that an unfocused and error-prone XI seemed to forget what they were playing for. Many of the members of the press naturally believed their poor performance was related to Adi Hütter's impending departure to the foals.

However, Hütter and his goalkeeper, Kevin Trapp, were quick to refute such claims.

Trapp responded to the question in his post-match conference: "That's of course easy fodder for the critics.

“They would have predicted as much. We are on the pitch as a team and want to achieve goals."

Hutter, who announced his departure from Frankfurt to take the reign at Gladbach, quickly defected the suggestion.

"That's a bit of a cheap way to look at it," Hütter said in response to the query.

"The performance simply wasn't on the level today. The first goal came off a set-piece, the second a mistake, the third another set-piece. That can't happen. Let's forget it. We have the next game in three days.”
