Al Hilal’s Options to Get Rid of Renan Lodi

Under Pressure of Results: Tactical and Administrative Challenges Facing the Leader in Evaluating Talents and Transfer Decisions

Al Hilal Club’s management is exploring the options available to get rid of one of the foreign players during the upcoming summer transfer period, in preparation for attracting new deals.

“The Leader” boasts a distinguished lineup of foreign players in all positions, but it faces a major challenge in the level of the Brazilian left-back Renan Lodi.

Lodi joined Al Hilal during the last winter transfer period, coming from Olympique Marseille for 23 million euros.

Lodi (26 years old) appeared in 10 matches with Al Hilal without scoring any goal, which made him subject to severe criticism from the fans and his Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, who previously confirmed that “the player has not shown the required level so far”.

According to what was published by the Italian journalist Rudi Galetti through his official account on the “X” social media platform, Al Hilal’s management is heading towards evaluating the offers submitted to include Renan Lodi.

It explained: “In case of submitting a suitable offer, Al Hilal will conduct an internal evaluation regarding the sale of the Brazilian player, whose contract extends until the summer of 2027”.

Jesus faces severe criticism in the recent period due to his insistence on including Lodi, despite the poor performance he presented with Marseille before joining Al Hilal.
