Legal Issues Confronting United States Player in Germany

Driving offenses and court challenges tighten the noose on the American football star in the Bundesliga.

The current attacking player for the United States national team, currently playing on loan for Union Berlin from Leeds United, may have to appear in Harrogate Magistrates' Court on January 3rd to face accusations of committing traffic violations. The first alleged violation relates to reckless driving, claiming that he exceeded the speed limit by 30 miles per hour on March 12, 2023. The second violation is related to failure to provide required information about the vehicle's driver when questioned on August 9, 2023.

His Leeds United teammate, Rasmus Christiansen, currently on loan to Roma, will appear in the same court on December 5th on charges of exceeding the speed limit. The alleged violation occurred on the A6040 Knaresborough road on February 19, 2023.

If convicted in court for these individual offenses, Aronson and Christiansen may face driving bans. Leeds will welcome the two players back to Elland Road in the summer after their loan spells with Union Berlin and Roma conclude in June.

It has been a challenging start to the young player's journey in Germany, participating in 14 matches with Union Berlin and struggling to secure a regular place in the lineup, spending only 450 minutes on the field. So far, he has not managed to score any goals or provide any assists for his team in the German league.
