Rodgers: "I think we can do something in Europe"

Brendan Rodgers keen to ensure Celtic are up to the challenge of Europe

Brendan Rodgers, the former coach of Leicester City and Liverpool, who has been appointed as the new coach of

Celtic

and replaced Ange Postecoglou, says that he is seeking to gain respect in European competitions with this team.

"I’d like to think we can do something in Europe. It’s well documented over the years when the club hasn’t qualified or hasn’t had a great record in terms of European football, so even though that’s a challenge in terms of the resources other clubs in Europe have, it’s a great challenge for us."

Rodgers said.

“We’ve got Champions League football this season and we hope to have European football after Christmas, that’s a great challenge for us all.”

In his previous spell with Celtic, Rodgers was able to win the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup, and Scottish League Cup with the team.
