"Everything was 10 points" - Zlatan Ibrahimovic praises Qatar's hosting of World Cup

Milan star Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he enjoyed his experience as a fan at the 2022 World Cup and praises Qatar for hosting the tournament.

The 41-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic has returned to the Sweden squad after a one-year absence for their European Championship qualifiers against Belgium and Azerbaijan.

In a Sweden press conference on Tuesday, Zlatan was asked about his impressions of the tournament and Qatar.

Ibrahimovic said:

"It was fantastic. As awesome as it gets. I was there for two days with the family."

He added:

”The organisation: 10 points. The experience: 10 points. The match: 10 points. Crowd: 10 points. The food: 10 points. The journey: 10 points. Everything was 10 points."

Reporters pointed to Ibrahimovic that Qatar has faced criticism over its human rights abuses, but he again gave a full mark to the country.

"Ten points,"

he said.

Ahead of the World Cup, Amnesty International said that hundreds of thousands of migrant workers had been exploited, pointing to thousands dying suddenly or unexpectedly. Human rights groups also have claimed women and people from LGBTQ+ communities are particularly badly treated in Qatar.

In a further interview with broadcaster SVT, the former Barcelona star was asked about the treatment of migrant workers in Qatar.

He said:

"I think they have given opportunities to get a job. Then how they treated them, I haven't been there and seen, so I can't judge and answer those questions.”

Zlatan was a guest at the World Cup final and was pictured alongside tennis superstar Novak Djokovic and PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Ibrahimovic also claimed that Qatar's system as a country works even better than Sweden.

He said:

"Qatar as a country, I think it is a system that works. Are there drugs? No. Is there crime? No. Is there crime in Sweden? Yes, very much. Drugs? Yes.

"Qatar's system works. The Swedish system? It works, but if it works 100 per cent, I don't know."
