PSG defender Achraf Hakimi charged with rape
Prosecutors have confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi has been charged with rape.
According to AFP,
Achraf Hakimiwas questioned by prosecutors on Thursday and has been charged with rape. The Morocco international reportedly was part of PSG’s training session on Friday morning.
A 24-year-old woman has accused Hakimi of raping her at his home in Paris on February 25.

PSGspokesperson told CNN on Thursday that the club
“supports the player who has firmly denied the accusations and trusts the justice system. Paris Saint-Germain is an institution that promotes respect on and off the pitch.”
The player’s lawyer Fanny Colin also said on Thursday that
“The accusations are false… and he is at the disposal of justice,”
as quoted by Al Arabiya.
Hakimi’s lawyer Fanny Colin has previously denied the allegation and in a statement released at the beginning of March, he confirmed Hakimi was "making himself available to the authorities" for the investigation.
Hakimi started his career at
Real Madrid. He spent two seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund and then joined Inter Milan in 2020 and won the Serie A title. The 24-year-old defender joined PSG in 2021 and helped them win the Ligue 1 title. He has played in 31 games in all competitions this season.
He was part of Morocco's squad that reached the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
