"Real Madrid the dream move for players", says Erling Haaland's agent

Erling Haaland agent Rafaela Pimenta believes playing for Real Madrid is the dream for football players.

Haaland

 reportedly rejected

Real Madrid

and joined

Manchester City

last summer. He has managed to score 33 goals this season.

Earlier this season, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola denied reports that Haaland's contract contains a release clause for him to join Real Madrid in 2024, but now her agent has hinted at a possible transfer to Madrid.

The Brazilian lawyer, Rafaela Pimenta told the FT Business of Football Summit:

"There's the Premier League and then there's also Madrid.

"They have something of their own that is also the dream for the players.

"Madrid keeps this magic going. They don't have the weekly competitions, but they have the Champions League."

Pimenta, who has taken over the running of Mino Raiola's agency, said now all the players want to play for a club in the Premier League.

"When I started in this business, if I tell them [a player], 'you move to England', they would ask me, 'what did I do wrong?',"

she added.

"Now when we talk to players, and ask them what is their goal, they say the Premier League. They don't say a team, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, they say the Premier League.

"This is the first time in 25 years that I hear so many players say I want to go to a league, not to a club. This is the place to be for an agent.

"An agent needs to be where a player wants to be. It's a fantastic league. It's so competitive, every game is a challenge, everyone wants to watch it.

"

Haaland’s agent also revealed that they are already working on a plan for his future.

“In my agency we try to make a plan,"

Pimenta explained.

"We have to make a plan. We need to have a goal. Maybe we won’t achieve it but if don’t know where we’re going for sure we don’t get there.

"When we have a player, we make plans. Even if the player is 15 years old. We are planning out his career trajectory.

Pimenta continued:

“The day the market [transfer window] finishes is the day I start visiting clubs to talk about players, to see what may be in the future. We are in February, I have already been to rounds of clubs four times this year.

"There are so many different clubs, we can be studying, who’s going to retire, who’s getting old, who’s injured, who’s doing bad. Maybe this will happen there. It’s like a chess game and you try to anticipate the next move.”
