Real Madrid is eight points behind Barcelona in La Liga after 22 matches.

Courtois, who played for Atletico between 2011 and 2014, believes the Madrid derby is always an important match for both teams.

"It's a very important game. Even my children notice it at school. Not only in derbies, but also in El Clásico, it's normal. There are children in their class who, perhaps, are from Atleti or Barça and it shows that they are Those games are special for everyone. A derby is very important".

"I, who have been on both sides, know even more that it weighs a lot and, perhaps, with the season they are having, after losing in the Cup against us, they will have even more motivation to beat us tomorrow. Likewise, they will try to continue winning to climb the table, and we have to keep winning to put pressure on Barça".
