Gabriel Paulista issues apology to Vinicius after red card tackle

Sitting 14th in the La Liga table with only five wins out of their 19 games, Valencia suffered another loss on Thursday to Real Madrid with Gabriel being sent off for a dangerous tackle on Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian issued an apology after the game.

Marco Asensio and

Vinicius Jr

sealed Real Madrid a 2-0 victory on Thursday over Valencia. However,

Gabriel Paulista

was sent off in the 72nd minute for a horror tackle on the Brazilian winger. The

Valencia

defender issues an apology for his actions.

He wrote on Instagram:

"I accept the criticism and the red card, I'm not proud. I'm a forceful player, but a noble one. I respect Vinicius and it was never my intention to hurt him. We are suffering a lot at this great club, experiencing a very difficult situation and feelings are near the surface.

"Sometimes it's difficult to control my nerves. I didn't control them and I apologize from the bottom of my heart. I'm sorry fans. We're going to continue fighting until the end to reverse this situation. Let no one doubt us."

After sacking manager Gennaro Gattuso, Valencia see themselves just one point above the relegation zone.
