‘I know many won’t understand’ – claims Anthony Gordon in emotional message to Everton fans

Evertonfans on social media, claiming that many won’t understand why he chose to leave now.
has joined the Magpies for a fee of £40m, which Newcastle will pay Everton upfront, but the move didn’t go as smoothly since Gordon forced the deal by missing three training sessions.
The 21-year-old however, had a message to Everton fans who are seeing their team struggle massively in the league this season.
“To Everton...I came to this club at the age of 11 and not only did it give me a place to play football but it gave me a second family,"
Gordon wrote.
"This club has shaped me into the footballer and more importantly the person I am today, it has given me everything I could have asked for and more.
"There have been some difficult moments this year but I never took any of it personally; stick by the team because they need you. I love this club and always have from the day I joined but the time has come for me to leave. I know many won't understand but the next chapter awaits. I will always wish the best for this club and always be watching on."
A product of Everton academy, Gordon appeared in 78 matches for Everton, providing 7 goals and 8 assists. Newcastle’s newly-signed winger could make his debut for the Magpies in their next clash against West Ham.
