Liverpool awards Stefan Bajcetic a new long-term contract

Establishing himself as a first-team option, the Spaniard has made 10 appearances for the Reds this season, thus Liverpool ties him to a new contract until 2027.

Upon joining the Reds from Celta Vigo in 2020,

Stefan Bajcetic

worked his way through the youth ranks to establish himself as a first-team player at Anfield.

Bajcetic has made 10 appearances for Liverpool this term as the club was trying to tie him to a new contract since the summer. Now, he officially penned a new deal with

Liverpool

until 2027.

"

It's crazy [how quickly things have happened],"

he told the club's official website.

"A year ago I was playing Under-18s football, and now I've started some games [and] made my debut.

"[I have] even scored a goal. That was something I never expected to happen this year. It's amazing to see how fast it went.

After making his debut in the Reds' 9-0 rout over Bournemouth, he scored his debut goal in their Boxing Day victory over Aston Villa.

Liverpool will be back in action this weekend in a FA Cup tie against Brighton on Saturday.
