Sadio Mane could be back in time to face PSG in Champions League second leg, according to Nagelsmann

Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann revealed that their first clash against PSG in the Champions League would be without

but he could be fit in time to face PSG in the second leg.

The Senegalese winger has been out since November with a fibula injury, having missed Senegal’s World Cup campaign. He has since undergone a surgery and is slowly working to get back to full fitness.

Talking to the press in Doha, Nagelsmann emphasized on Mane’s importance and the timeline of him getting back, as he said:

"He's [Mane] an important player. If everything goes well, then it could be the case that he returns in time for PSG.

"We will see how he reacts to the workload. Personally, I'm not yet considering him for the first leg."

Alongside Mane, another one of Bayern’s new signings Matthijs de Ligt is also out with an injury as he won’t be able to play in the friendly match Bayern have planned with Salzburg on Friday. However, he is expected to be back to fitness soon.

, who recently joined Bayern from Ajax in a short 6-month deal, is available to play. Nagelsmann spoke about the Dutch full-back, saying: 

"He will play tomorrow. He still needs some time, because the intensity in training is a bit higher.

"You can tell that he has a lot of experience and he looks confident on the ball. He will be the player that we imagined he'd be."
