Cesar Azpilicueta admits Chelsea has “lost too many points”

An outstanding volley from Serge Aurier canceled Raheem Sterling's first-half opener as Potter's side struggled to live with Nottingham Forest's aggression and were the fortunate side of the game. Azpilicueta admits Chelsea are far away from their targets.

Chelsea traveled to face

Nottingham Forest

 

on Sunday for a Premier League game with the latter being in the relegation zone. After Raheem Sterling opened up for the visitors in the 16th minute, Serge Aurier scored the equalizer for Forest in the 63rd minute as the two sides settled on a draw.

Chelsea captain

Cesar Azpilicueta

told his post-match interview:

"Every point matters and of course, today we lost two points.

“Since the beginning of the season we lost too many points and we are now really far away from where we want to be.

"We need to have a very good second half of the season if we want to achieve a Champions League spot next season. We have to stick together.

“We know that it is not the most pleasant time but in these difficult moments I think we need everybody to work hard to improve."

Chelsea will host

Manchester City

on Thursday for their next Premier League game.
